We’ve had a few people reach out in disbelief that they can’t find any “Dodge Ram” trucks in our vehicle template library. The reason for this goes back fifteen years and it seems many weren’t aware of the change made long ago.
For many years, Dodge had a variety of Ram trucks in their lineup. Changes started in 2009 when Chrysler (who owned Dodge) went through a corporate reorganization and became Chrysler Group LLC. As part of that restructuring, there was a desire to have better definition of each of its brands. It was in 2010 when Ram became its own brand focused exclusively on trucks.
In 2014, the name of the overall company was changed to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles which then was merged into Stellantis in 2021. Even though the overall corporate name changed, Ram was still a standalone brand.
Even after Ram became a brand, the trucks were still found in the library under Dodge Ram for many years. MR Clipart has now moved the templates to the standalone Ram brand. When you download the template files, you might still find some of them have “dodge” in the filename.
Below you can see all of the model names available under the Ram brand.
When looking at Ram 1500 pickups, you’ll note that newer models have a File ID with “ram” in the filename and older models have “dodge” in the filename. Note the File ID (filename) is highlighted in red boxes in the screenshot below.
We hope this history is interesting to you as well as helping you understand where to find the large number of Ram truck vehicle templates available in our library.
